There are many fantastic restaurants and pubs to eat in the area, most of them being in Cheltenham. Jamie’s Italian gives an excellent variety of Italian with dishes of delicious foods designed by Jamie Oliver himself. The professional cook had an interest in the Italian food business and so created this restaurant to allow others to appreciate the enjoyment that he gets out of his cooking.

Café Rouge is a beautifully designed French restaurant situated on the Cheltenham Promenade. With a great range of excellent food, it is a wonderful place to spend lunch times or evenings with friends and family.  It has an outside seating area on the promenade which is in a community area, surrounded by other restaurants and shops. It is a very welcoming restaurant with superb staff and chefs.

#CotswoldHotspot: Things to do near to Cleeve Hill

Cleeve Hill is located not too far from Cheltenham. Cheltenham is an admired town with a friendly community and a heart-warming atmosphere. It is a town for the whole family to enjoy and a popular choice of things to do in the area would be the Sandford Park Lido. It has a main and children’s pool both being of a pleasant 70˚C along with a Café, and sports such as volleyball, basketball and table tennis.

Cheltenham is also an town known for its festivals, these include Music, Literature, Jazz and Science. For those who enjoy history, the Holst Birthplace Museum contributes to a fantastic day out. The museum is located in the house where Holst was born in 1874.

A morning at the stables

Yesterday morning we visited Kim Bailey Stables which is just off the Cotswolds Way along with our marketing agency ‘apt marketing and pr’ to celebrate their 13^th birthday. We had the honour to meet and watch Nick Scholfield who recently came third at the Grand National. We also had breakfast with Irish jockey and winner of the 2011 Grand National, Jason Maguire, who also showed us his skills on the jumps. We all had a great day out and are very thankful that the rain held off for us!

2000Trees music festival

This weekend I’m going to the 2000Trees music festival with my son and his friends. The event is a local Gloucestershire based festival just outside Cheltenham and features local bands such as ‘The Futureheads’ and ’Pulled Apart By Horses’.  After the weather last weekend I’m hoping that next weekend will be a lot nicer – Dry at least!

The festival started in 2007 with only 1,000 people and has now grown to welcome 4,500 festival goers and won ‘the Grass Roots Festival Award’ for 2010 as well as 2^nd in the best toilets category!  

The event spans Friday to Sunday with the eager ones amongst us purchasing ‘early bird tickets’ allowing early entrance on Thursday.  The event promises to be fun filled with bands, silent discos, sheep dog trials, fancy dress competitions and much more to look forward to.  So I’ll be bracing the campsite whatever the weather and throwing myself into the festival spirit!
