We constantly read reports about how to make the most out of Social Media (insert platform name here) such as Twitter, Facebook and foursquare, but often the campaigns are fairly similar and don't really make a splash! They're effective, but not inspirational, communicating with the right target audience but having a fairly average impact. That's why we're constantly on the lookout for novel, unusual campaigns that use one of these platforms in a different way.
Enter the foursquare 'check-in' campaign by German pet food producer GranataPet. They've taken over a billboard and added a whole new dimension to the platform. The billboard is integrated with a server which controls a specialised dispenser; owners check-in with their pets and receive a free sample of the dog food! We love this because it's original, simple and effective!
